What to expect
What can I expect at a first session?
A first session is an extension of our telephone consultation exploring your needs and wishes in therapy. There is no pressure for you to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you.
How often should we meet?
My clients usually attend weekly sessions. Having a regular appointment on the same day and time each week provides a safe, reliable space for you.
Do I need to prepare or bring anything?
You don’t need to bring anything with you. Sometimes people like to think about things they want to discuss ahead of time, whilst others choose to work with matters that emerge on the day.
What will we do in sessions?
I am led by what’s important to you on the day. There are lots of ways to explore issues; some client’s just like to talk and others wish to bring somatic body work and relaxation techniques into their sessions. We can work together to find what feels most helpful for you.
How many sessions will I need?
It’s up to you how long we work together and what you choose to focus on. Short term therapy allows us to focus on your immediate difficulty, but should you wish to delve deeper, you may choose to remain in therapy for a little longer period.
